Verification

A verification of Virginia Marsh’s work at the City of Sacramento Cemetery,

now known as the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery.

I, Darrell Paul Martineau, was the Supervisor of the City Cemetery from 1973 until 1993.

I worked very closely with Virginia Marsh from 1986 until my retirement in 1993. During

the first two years Virginia shared my office at the City Cemetery. When I opened the

old chapel on the cemetery grounds in 1988, and made it into an archive center, I made

an office for Virginia there. We continued to work together on an almost daily basis.

Virginia has received full recognition from the Sacramento City Council and city staff,

including the city manager for her thousands of hours of volunteer work.

All that I have read in Virginia’s “Personal Account” of the “Cemetery Index” is true.

Parks Supervisor Retired
